Stop Bullying and support Self Esteem
I decided to go off the reservation on this because I was, and have a son who was bullied! For all you bully's out there, your just cowards looking for some attention. You don't realize the aftermath and future life of someone who is bullied. When my son came to me about this I was floored and said history is repeating itself. I was bullied in high school it left a a profound mark on my personality. Thanks to the martial arts, I was able to overcome the after effects but in today's society, not everyone can afford to go for Karate lessons. Another problem is the schools usually will turn a blind eye to this stuff but do have programs for bullying in place. The problem is that bullying happens out of the sight of the authorities and so they are helpless to do anything about it. We need two things to happen. One is to blow the whistle on these so called bully's and identify them and two, to get the schools more involved to pay attention to those who are bullied and find ways to help out and stop this all together. School is important for all of our children and I don't want to see a kid who is bullied, commit suicide because someone turned a blind eye to the problem. As for those who try to go on in life, you need to remember, there are people out there who do care and are willing to help. even if it is to have someone to talk to about it and try to help alleviate the problem. There will always be bully's but remember you bully's, there are bigger fish in the sea and if you mess around in the wrong pond you might wind up on a hook and on the dinner table. Right at the moment I am trying to save my son from 3 years of mental torture. At this moment I don't have an answer out there for this. Any help would be appreciated! If you have a story about this then e-mail me At mechtech2000@live.com and let me know your take on this and maybe we can all get some answers on how to handle these situations and save these kids from a life of low self esteem and depression and get them on the right track in school and in life. I will post, with your permission, the opinions an ideas on how we can help those who are bullied and make life better for them!
It's all of our Jobs to get involved and help these kids so they can learn and not be distracted by those who have no regard for someone else's educational development!
I will resume with posting what this blog is all about, more technical stuff!

Mechtech Redneck Says "You got to read this" PLEASE!
I am sitting here watching TEACH on NBC. What a great program. I was a teacher for 25
years.
One thing I know for sure is that reading and understanding
what you read
Is more than
important, it's critical. In the automotive industry you
have to read in order to keep up with all new technology. I hate reading
but start out slow and what I do is read a few lines then digest the
information. Read some
more and continue to do the same. I don’t care how long it takes but in
order for me to
understand something , I may have to read
it a few times ! As a teacher, I
understand the
frustration because I was a student once too. As a tech in
the field of old school I could diagnose anything but with
technology
Today, you have to
read service manuals or internet publications to be
able to fix these vehicles
today! Diagnostics is critical
and mandatory
to make repairs today. Remember when you were a kid and
asked your Dad or
Mom, why something was the way it is, well don’t stop asking why ever!! If
you want to fix something then asking why it broke in the
first place is
important! Anyone can
replace parts but WHY did the part fail in the first place? I don’t care if you’re
10
or 100, anyone can read butunderstanding what
you read is important. It is the way of
life to get
knowledge and how to get through it! Unfortunately our school systems
are crippled due to monetary constraints, but it is up to us as
individuals to say “I
will do this and better myself for it”! Stop wasting
time on video games and surfing the net and pick up a book
or service
Manual or online publication and read it! Some of my students used to say
"I can't do this" well my thought processes say
" Can't means wont!" so I
don't beleive in I can't do this, I believe in "They don't make NOTHIN I
can't fix", and
as long as there is a book or publication out there along
with common sense, I CAN fix anything and so CAN you! READ!
READ! READ!
READ! Once you start you wont stop and you'll find out that there is
Nothing in life that
you can't overcome! I set up this site
to help you
all out! The old saying is "You can lead a horse to
water but you can't
make him drink it" well! Listen up horsey, sooner or later your gonna get
thirsty and your gonna have to drink something! Do me a favor and get
THIRSTY as hell and start reading and if you do, your thirst will increase
and so will your knowledge and diagnostic capabilities! Trust
me, I have 55 years of experience behind
me to be able to say all this. Some day you will learn what
I learned, everything my father told me was
true and now I sound just like him! OH LORD HELP ME!

Old Versus Tuners
Ok people, it's time to put this out there. I am an old school fool and love the Muscle cars of yesteryear! I don't see how any of these Tuner vehicles are going to end up on the Barrett Jackson Auction! You can't tell em apart and the compression ratios are not what they used to be not to mention they are missing cylinders and sound like a fart can going down the street! But to each his own! Remember Sunoco 260 guys???? Well this current pump gas ain't gunna cut it in a 396 Chevelle! I building a 67 Chevelle Super Sport and and I think I might get more looks goin down the street than in a Toyota Camry all tricked out to look like a Lamburgini! Granted some of them are really cool looking with great color schemes but you need to tell me why these TUNERS are better than a Chevelle Super Sport that is bock stock and a bad as hell 425 horsepower (with no NOS)screaming motor with 3 inch exhaust screaming hello to all going down the highway! Come on people I wanta know what you think! And while your here look around and enjoy! There is always two sides to a story so what's the other story?????? I want to tally up the replies and in One month I will post the results! Stay Tuned!!!
By the way, there is a TV show on the Speed Channel that addresses this topic called"Are You Faster Than a Redneck?".Check it out!
