CD's A thing of the past??

I read an article on the net the other day stating that car Manufactures are going to quit building cars with CD players. Due to MP3 and Bluetooth connections Cd's are no longer popular. Wow, I remember when 8 track was the thing and then cassett players then CD's. Man I am gettin old. What is going to be next, ear implants for music? Just goes to show that if you blink too slowly technology will pass you by. It is amazing how the technology world has progess in the last decade. I can't wait to see what is going to be the future of the Multimedia world. Good luck and Happy Motoring!

Basic Basic Basic

I know prople are sometimes looking for technical information and advanced information but this blog will try to stay on the Basic side of things. Being A Master Technician myself, often times we see the forrest for the trees rather than were the trees originate. Root Basics are the only way to make repairs. I don't know how many times I took certain things for granted on repairs and got beaten up bad because I should have started with the basics. When it comes to diagnostics, always start with the basics and progress from there. I realize these cars today are getting more and more sophisticated but returning to the basics and making repairs is no different now then they were 50 years ago. good luck out there and always Remember the Basics of Technology.

Do us a favor and if some of you experienced tech's would like to please share some of your experiences with us for the newbies to read and maybe help them not to make the same mistakes we did. There is one on the Reading and Compprehension page that is a true story that I ran into.

New Year Auto news

Now that the New Year has come into affect, it is time to start anew. I have finally gotten to redo this blog. I will be posting material in the ASE area’s to help out you fellows who are starting out as technicians.

I would like to thank CDXAUTO.com for allowing me to use some of there sample videos. I would suggest you all check out there CDX e-textbook on that site as they follow NATEF guidelines for material which will also guide you through the ASE tests that you will be taking. If you subscribe to the CDXPLUS section, you will be able to see videos like those here on this blog but in better detail and more indepth content. There are also things like Diagnostic troubleshooting and quizzes you take to check your knowledge. Check out their link down Below!

Good luck to all of you in the coming year and may we all be prosperous in the automotive field. I have been a part of the field for over 50 years in one capacity or another and hope some or all of you will change the way cars are made to make our lives easier. God bless Muscle cars and as Spock use to say may they “Live Long And Prosper” If you want to see anything new on this site , drop me a line by e-mail and I will try my best to accommodate the request! Also keep an eye on Mr. Paull's blog as we are working together to help one another and all of you. His link is on this page down below!
